The Waubic is a boat access only restaurant located on the Severn River between Lock 43 and Big Chute. The Waubic is a family owned and operated business, our menu is homemade and freshly baked. We are dedicated to maintaining this quality, so longer waits are to be expected during busy times. We may not be the biggest, fastest or fanciest place on the river, but we promise to do our best for you.

ABOUT US Sitting atop the Trent-Severn Waterway, The Waubic is an energetic, friendly, family operated restaurant. It has been providing guests with a unique dining experience and great home cooking since 1913. It's rich history is present within it's walls, and descendants of the original owners are still nearby to keep a watchful eye on it. While the owners, and style of cuisine, has changed many times over the past hundred years, the charm and appeal has remained.
Built in 1913, The Waubic sits between Lock 43 and the historic Big Chute Marine Railroad at Lock 44. This location is the perfect oasis for weary travellers and fun-loving vacationers alike. It is also one of the few remaining boat access only destinations for cottagers and boaters to visit.
Being boat access only, The Waubic experience begins with a scenic boat ride from cottages minutes away, or marinas hours away. The docks are not exclusive to boats though, as float planes often join us on the patio. On any given day, The Waubic's docks can be a sea of boats, planes, jet skis, kayaks and canoes. Some come for a meal, some come for cocktails and a day in the sun, while others come and stay for a relaxing few days on their boat. They all however, come to enjoy great food, personal service and a serene experience on the water.
The Waubic is driven to uphold a reputation of quality cooking and a friendly family atmosphere. The restaurant is a licensed establishment with a menu that includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with an array of appetizers. The operating season runs from the May long weekend and ends in October with a Thanksgiving buffet. Guests are treated to outstanding cuisine along with a season full of entertainment, activities and special events. Guests on the waterfront patio are on vacation, creating a laid back and one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The Waubic is a summertime tradition where old friendships are rekindled and new ones are made.
When you put all this together with great food, friendly service and a waterfront patio, The Waubic has become the place to be every summer.
